A feminine colour palette is always a winner! Happy Life by sylvia just has me mesmerised with all its loveliness. A mix of brush work/blending with some elements shadowed here and there makes for some depth and great interest. Add a pretty girl and some large word art and you’ve got yourself a standout! Totally love this!

Life by Sylvia Totally fun page! I absolutely love the bold feel to this layout with the fabulous Big Bold Title. The artist used a play with color to perfection throughout this page.  Gorgeous photos  beautifully shadowed and cropped and I love the color effects as well. And then she topped it off with a little bling, with those pretty diamond studded flowers. Very  pretty Layout!!!

Love the energy, exhilaration and anticipation in Good Day Sunshine by sylvia. Fantastic blending and use of the color yellow. The extraction and shadowing are point on. The horizontal line anchors the image. Also love the yellow arrow directing the eye to the image.

I love the summer vibe in Sun by *sylvia*. The blues and yellows really give the impression of glorious, warm sunshine and I like the beachy embellishments to the left while the shadowing gives this page some wonderful depth. Gorgeous!

I adore this photo and how she used it “together” and then as a separate snapshot of each.  Great choice of background paper with the pencil writing is the perfect touch to this  fantastic layout with tons of little details .  The layers in the center are so beautifully done and her shadowing is amazing! This is such a gorgeous work of art – LOVE!!!!

Having some young grandchildren means I’m always on the look out for inspiration. Y’know the ones – pages that make my grandchildren think I’m a rather cool Nana, those like Happy Moments by sylvia. Remember by Sylvia | What great use of white space. I love the crop on the simple black and white photos along with the pops of bright yellow. I love the sentiment in her writing. It’s important to remember! And of course … I’m a sucker for awesome shadowing and she did a great job shadowing on this page. I love the way the edge is curling a little in the second photo.

Amazingly, I found a second wonderful teenager layout in the galleries tonight. Teenager by Sylvia, is a fabulous tongue in cheek page, with a great messy white space design! I find stripes to be quite challenging in my own work but sylvia makes it look so easy with her Happy Girl layout. The pretty pink and grey tones are so soft and they allow the eye to be drawn directly to the coloured/black and white image stack before you move on to the little details around the page. I love the title work and the quote is perfect! A great page!

To the Moon and Back by Sylvia : Seriously?! How incredibly sweet is this page?! That photo is adorable and I love that the artist chose to “print” her photo in black in white and her great shadow work in popping it from the page. I love the watercolor clouds in the background and the doodled stars and colorful pops of color in the hearts and moon. What a sweet page. I love including journaling on a page, but this page certainly does not need it. Wonderful!

hi by sylvia has another beautiful message for our New Year – Notice the beauty of our world!  I love the happy, whimsical nature of this layout.  The yellow squares are a great frame for the photo, and I like how she took that happy color and used it on dots and elements around the page.    Look at the adorable little bow at the end of the stamped balloon!  It makes me smile each time I look at it.

Christmas by sylvia. Sometimes the simplest and least embellished pages are the most effective and that’s definitely the case here. The paper blocks which look like wrapped presents alongside the single photo make for a clean design. The rotated title fits the design in just the right way as do the little bit of text and small red paint spatter.

This next page fills my heart with joy and takes me back in time in the most beautiful way! Hippie Spirit by *sylvia* honors the title.  The black background is illuminated by her art work, the VW vans are the perfect representation of my teenage years, spent on the 70s with a hippie attitude, and here so amazingly turned into an art piece with perfect touches in the words art and brushes, pure delight!

This next layout is deceptively simply.  Remind Yourself by sylvia has a wonderful message, and she manages to convey it simply and clearly by duplicating her image and flipping it around.  And don’t you love the partially painted hexagons in the background?  The dots and other graphic items behind the photos really emphasize the photo, as does the smudged paint on the side.  But the little “notches” on the opposite size are a fabulous balance to the rest of the layout – I love how she uses the title to lead our eyes, too.  Beautiful white space page!

That great extraction got my attention right away! It looks like the subject is sitting on top of the world! ! Love the doodly whimsical feel of this page. There are some cute elements used, like the banner with the bow, and the repeat circles drawing us in. There is some very subtle but effective shadow work on this one. I like that the edges have a nice light touch of paint to ground the whole page. Very fun page.

I adore this page, My Little Love, by sylvia. The photo captures a beautiful smile that is so contagious. Staying with the colder weather is this minimalistic page by sylvia appropriately entitled Snow. I adore the simplicity of this, the delicate elements, the gorgeous photo and, of course, all that white space – can’t you hear the silence of the snow fall in this page?! But don’t get me wrong though when I say simplicity… pages like this can be the most challenging because a lot of us find it super hard to go with the ‘less is more’ approach when we have so many goodies at our disposal! This page is such a treasure!

Another smashing page with gorgeous white space is Magical by Sylvia. Here, I like that the rounded corners of the photo are reflected in the dashed border and how the border breaks to showcase the ’25’. I was drawn to this first layout, be thankful by sylvia, because of the wonderful color palette in the photo.  The autumn gold sweater and overalls just say fall fun to me.  I also like the angle of the photo and the way she cropped it — it adds so much interest.  Her choice of accents are equally pleasing.  The three swirls are reminiscent of leaves blowing around them and the buttons are perfect to anchor her photo.  Finally, I love the top of the tag peaking from the lower left corner of the page and her be Thankful message.

We have had many October mornings that look exactly like this.  It’s a beautiful capture of a day in the season.  I like the background which seems to match the mood of the photo, and the minimal bits of soft blue elements.  The grungy page framing adds so much to the overall look, and the simple title says it all.

I love the white-washed wood background on this layout and how it allows the sweet little girl, especially her eyes, to pop from the photo.  This page reads that she is main focus of this moment and everything else is just there to accentuate how adorable she is.  The mixing of different medias, paint, wood, paper, adds texture and depth to the neutral field, while the small pops of yellow and orange add a little color and interest.
It’s a wonderful moment captured on a wonderful page.

Me by sylvia really drew me in when I saw it.  The complex background she has created adds to the sense of drama of the photo.  This drama is  enhanced by the  use of the torn frame over a portion of the blended photo.  Love the subtle title and the single flower stapled to the corner of the photo.  This is just a totally stunning page!

This layout by Sylvia, isn’t about the blending. It’s about EVERYTHING. The wonderful use of the brush (which, technically *IS* blended into the background), the little paint spots placed just so, the tiny heart on the outside of the circle. The photo is beautiful and I can’t rave enough about her genius in stitching the inside of the bullseye! I am surely lifting that little gem of a trick! The simple word strip says it all. Sylvia is one of my favourite simple, white space scrappers and this one does not disappoint.

Moving away from the holiday but staying with the season is my next pick, The Scent of Fall by Sylvia.
The masked photo taken from behind is the perfect autumn shot.  The combination of hand-drawn and paper leaves cascading down the edge of the page moves the eye toward the title. The textured paper is the perfect backdrop and the bits of text and sketchy branches and birds support her theme. The half circle of patterned paper and buttons in the opposite corner complete the page.

The first layout that caught my eye was and then by *sylvia* .  It seems fitting to choose this one since the Summer Olympics are fast approaching. The extraction is outstanding and shadowed to perfection. The simple sketched circle frames the figure and only a few embellishments are needed to complete her design. I love the split papers and that she used both the stitches and word art to demarcate the change.

Next, my attention was drawn to the central design of Love Yourself by sylvia. The chevron backdrop works so well here and I like the simple layers under the frameless photo. The scatters leading up from the little camera embellishment, up and under the photo, interrupted by those two little flowers, and carrying on up to the top of the page, look like they’ve been punched from the little pieces of dotted paper and they make me think of the magic that our cameras help us create … and the magic here is the adorable photo and the way it’s been wonderfully scrapped!

16.04.2016

I love textures, and this artist really used textures as an accent here with that waffle paper, grabbing my attention. The ripped photo and doodly bits are also really appealing against that yellow paint splash. Love the perspective on the photo and there are just enough accents on this one. I am a big fan of painting the corners, so I really like the extra floral doodle embellishment toward the bottom of this page.
